HAPPY HOOK
Happy Hook is an accessible crochet kit for beginners, thoughtfully designed with three learning levels to support skill-building and creative confidence.
The goal is to create a beginner crochet kit that stands out in the craft aisle while clearly showcasing how Happy Hook makes learning crochet simpler, more affordable, any age friendly and skill-focused, empowering beginners to confidently branch out on their own.
I developed this bunny pattern step by step, crocheting and documenting the process as I worked from my original sketches. Through several rounds of prototyping and revising, I refined the design before arriving at the final version. One of the main challenges was selecting a yarn weight and type that would be beginner-friendly, allowing stitches to be clearly visible and making it easier to sew on the facial features.
The box is designed to showcase the crochet animal while matching its aesthetic through coordinated icons and colours. It also clearly indicates the difficulty level, with 1 being the easiest and 3 the most advanced. While anyone can access free YouTube tutorials for individual crochet stitches to make learning crochet easy and accessible for all, the full tutorial for the specific pattern, such as the bunny, is provided through an exclusive link available only with purchase of the box.
